Stories are independently selected through the KCED Public Interest Standard — based on public benefit, community relevance, evidentiary foundation, and potential impact. A supporting partner helps make the reporting possible, but has no role in editorial selection, reporting, conclusions, or final approval. Where a partner supports a story, it is acknowledged separately: “Made possible with support from [Partner].”
